Happy Tails
Parker
We adopted Parker at the Spokane Humane Society on 8/14/09 as a companion for our nearly blind and deaf dog Buddy (also a shelter adoptee) who had just lost his "sister". Parker was listed as a goofball but he is also very sweet and a little shy. We first met him on the 12th but we were thinking of going with another dog at Spokanimal. We brought Buddy in to meet her and it didn't work out at all. We were so glad that Parker was still available and rushed over to adopt him.
We don't know much about him but we think he might have been abused at one point by a male because it took a good month before he bonded with my husband. He bonded with me right away but Parker would run away every time my husband came into the same room with him. But now he follows him everywhere! Buddy and Parker spend most of the day playing and they sleep with us at night so our "pack" is now complete again. We have always tried to adopt shelter dogs and Parker has been a great addition to our family. Thanks!
Angel Bear
I was named Snapple but my new owner didn't think I looked like a drink so I have a new name. "Angel Bear". I rule the roost from my favorite lamp table. I'm so glad to have a new home I like to follow my new person around making little chatty noises. Angel Bear is a delight to have around.
Patricia Lauber
P.S.
She joins Manna Bear Who was Adopted from SHS in 2000. She likes to play Halloween kitty with her big yawn.
Marge and Maxx
Hello I am writting for my mom of 84 years. This past summer she adopted Maxx or maybe I should say he adopted her. We were all worried how this would turn out except maybe the two of them. After all you know Maxx was coming from the shelter - WELL there was no problem there. We could not have asked for a more perfect fit. She just loves him and tells me so daily. And he adjusted so quickly we were amazed. Yes we kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it has not. He is a perfect gentleman in the house. Loves to play just enough for a young lady of that age and nap time is just right for the two of them. It has gotten her out of her chair several times a day for walks and given her someone to fuse over and take care of. I just knew the morning Maxx's (yes that is with two xx's just ask my mom) picture was in the email I recieved daily hoping for the right dog for her he would be taken. But we were so lucky to be the chosen family, yes he has a whole new family but one special person. We can't thank you enough for letting us adopt him for her it truly was a match made in heaven and although my dad would probably have said she didn't need a dog I am sure he was looking out for her and Maxx Thank you so much and a Merry Christmas to all of you there. And if you are thinking of adopting a pet from the shelter please do so!!! They make wonderful companions. Marge and Maxx .
Murray
I just wanted to thank you for saying yes when SCRAPS called asking if you had room for a 9 year old mastiff. We adopted "Red", now called "Murray", from you earlier this year and I cant even begin to describe how much joy he has brought to our lives. He is pure love wrapped in fur.
