Spokane Humane Society presents the Pet I.D.’s of March!
Spokane, Wash., Wednesday, March 10, 2010— A missing pet can be a very anxious, sad experience for any family and a dangerous situation for the pet, particularly if the pet has no pet identification tags.
Animals can wander away from the safety of their own yards; severe weather, loud noises or an unlatched gate can quickly separate owners from their pets. Even indoor cats that have rarely been outdoors, when frightened, can bolt out the door and become lost.
Thousands of companion animals enter Spokane area animal shelters every year. Of these, only two percent of cats and 15-20% of dogs are reunited with their owners.
Pet I.D. tags make it possible for individuals that find a lost animal to reunite the animal with its owner by simply contacting the lost pet’s worried family using the information found on the pets ID tag.
As part of the Pet I.D.’s of March, the Spokane Humane Society has partnered with Invisible Fence of Spokane to offer a Free PetSafe Micro I.D. collar, (a $49.99 value) to the first 100 adopted pets between now and the end of March at our shelter located at 6607 North Havana at Francis and Bigelow Gulch!
The Spokane Humane Society has a large selection of breeds, colors and sizes of companion animals to help you find that perfect pet match. All animals adopted from the Spokane Humane Society are current on their shots, are spayed or neutered and micro-chipped as part of the adoption fee. Help an animal in need, visit our shelter and adopt today!
If you have a companion animal(s) in need of pet identification, the Spokane Humane Society will also have engraved I.D. Tags available for $4.00 anytime and offer micro-chipping for $20 every Thursday afternoon from 4:30-5:30pm.
