Add “help shelter animals” to your new year’s resolutions this year!
As you can see, our dogs LOVE SHS Canine Crew Volunteers. We encourage you to sign up to be a volunteer dog walker HERE, as we strive to get every dog out of their kennel every single day. This is sadly not the case for most shelters, and without our volunteers, SHS wouldn’t be able to help every dog, every day. Volunteering at SHS is easy, you can come once a day, once a week, or even once a month! We are flexible with your schedule and appreciate the help whenever you can come in! Plus, we provide all the supplies including, treats, toys, collars, and leashes.
If you love to snuggle kitty cats, we have the perfect way for you to start off your new year! Join Cuddle Crew at Spokane Humane Society, more information HERE. Cuddle Crew visits the shelter cats and gives them playtime, exercise, snuggle time, and lots of love! Most often, Cuddle Crew helps with human socialization with our shy, scared, and timid cats. Our Cuddle Crew is so important, if you’d like to join, please sign up today!
The SHS Foster Program saves lives and helps so many animals in need. An animal may be entered into the foster program if they need rehabilitation prior to being made available for adoption. Many of the animals in need of a foster home are puppies and kittens too young to be adopted. Animals that can be rehabilitated, that have manageable conditions due to minor illnesses, malnutrition, and some behavior problems, receive a second chance through the program. We have short-term and long-term foster placements and will work with you to find an animal in need that will be the best fit in your home. Find more information HERE.
If you are hoping to volunteer at SHS, but you’re looking for non-animal related tasks we also have volunteers that help with dishes, laundry, cleaning, building and fixing things, as well as office tasks like printing, writing thank you cards, and more!
If you can’t donate your time, please give a donation to the animals in need & start their year off right. The SHS STAR Fund, which stands for Special Treatment and Recovery, allows us to provide life-saving medical care to abused, neglected, injured, and sick shelter animals.
