Fostering Success: Lilly’s Ready for a Loving Home!

Lilly’s back from her board and train program and is ready to find a second chance! Thanks to a grant from PEDIGREE Foundation, we were able to send Lilly to Speak Dog, an eight-week board and train program in Tri-Cities. While with Speak Dog, Lilly worked on her leash manners, reactivity to other dogs, and her kennel presence-behaviors that were holding her back from finding a loving home.

Upon Lilly’s return, our foster coordinator worked to place her with an incredible foster family so she can continue to work on her training in a home environment. It’s proven that canine behavior can decrease after two weeks in a shelter setting, and we didn’t want Lilly to lose all the progress she’d made at board and train.

Lilly’s foster reports that she is settling into her new home, saying, “Lilly is doing great! She’s starting to do some zoomies and is feeling more comfortable here.”

Even though Lilly’s in foster care, she’s still looking for her forever home! If you’re interested in meeting a sweet, wiggly, happy-go-lucky gal, please email gracec@spokanehumanesociety.org to schedule a meet and greet appointment. Let’s help Lilly find the loving home she deserves!

This project has been supported by a grant from PEDIGREE Foundation.

Formed in 2008 by the makers of PEDIGREE (r) food for dogs, PEDIGREE Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping dogs in need find loving homes by supporting the good work of shelters and dog rescue organizations throughout the country. Through no fault of their own, more than four million dogs end up in shelters and rescue organizations every year, and nearly half of them never find a place to call home.
