Gary’s Hopping His Way to a New Home

There’s never a dull day at SHS! On December 10th, a good Samaritan found a bunny in their backyard, lost and cold with nowhere to go. SCRAPS had already closed for the night, so they turned to us for help. As a dog and cat only rescue, we typically never take bunnies into our care, but we couldn’t fathom leaving him out in the cold. One of our clinic staff owns bunnies and she graciously took him into her care as a foster.

The bunny, now named Gary, has remained in foster care for the past month, where he’s been spoiled with treats and had a blast with his new bunny friends. He wasn’t fixed prior to our care, and our incredible clinic team took on the challenge of performing a bunny neuter, which went perfectly! Now, Gary has recovered and is heading to our Northpointe PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center to find his forever home.

If you are interested in adding a sweet, friendly, and adorable 10-month-old bunny to your home, stop by Northpointe PetSmart and meet him! Gary has endured so much already in his little life, and we are eager for him to find comfort and peace in a forever home.

We would like to remind you that Gary is a special circumstance, and we will continue to only intake cats and dogs into our care. If you are looking to rehome a bunny, please reach out to Murci’s Mission, Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary, or River’s Wish Animal Sanctuary. If you find a stray bunny, please contact SCRAPS. Thank you!
