I love animals and have always had some in the house. That is why started as a
volunteer at the Center, working with the dogs / cats, and general helping out. I love animals and the team.
A few years ago we adopted a sweet small doggy, and now he is an integral
part of our family. The team knows exactly what they are doing. Many thanks from all our big family.
Fostering allows me to indulge my love for animals. It is truly, truly a life saving job.
I focus on the fact that I am making a difference one little foster at a time.

Browse our pets online. If you find a pet you are interested in online, great! Make sure you view that animal’s profile and check which one of our three adoption locations they can be found at.
Print, complete and bring the dog adoption survey or cat adoption survey and visit the shelter. Pay the animal a visit at the indicated adoption site. Our animal shelter is open Monday–Tuesday 11–5, closed on Wednesday, and open Thursday–Sunday 11–5. We recommend that you and any family members spend some time at the shelter, making sure you and your future pet are a perfect match. We also require written approval from your landlord at the time of adoption. Please note that adoption services at the main shelter stop half an hour prior to closing.
Bring your animal home. Virtually all of our animals are ready to go home the same day as the adoption, so you could have a new best friend today! Adoptions come with a 30-day ShelterCare health insurance policy, and most veterinarians in the Spokane area will provide a complimentary wellness exam following the adoption.
The Spokane Humane Society invests on average about $750.00 into every animal we rescue. Adoption fees help offset this expense and allow us to provide food, shelter, enrichment and medical care. Here is just some of the value you receive when you adopt from the Spokane Humane Society. For more info, click HERE.
Our most popular pets have higher adoption fees in order to support animals in our care that needed specialized medical care or training in order to find a loving home.
