Description

Lula is an extremely playful and engaging cat. She loves to smack small toys around and then chase them down. A very gentle and very loving girl. She enjoys cuddles when she is in the mood but doesn't like people who are too pushy in that department. It's almost as if she is offended when people automatically assume that she is ready to be grabbed and stroked simply because she is posing so beautifully in her soft bed. She will let you know if you have overstepped. You may get your hand slapped. Those of us who care for her have never had an issues with her because we have gotten to know her and respect her wishes. It isn't hard. Just take a few minutes to say hello quietly, offer your hand and if she is interested, she'll get up and come to you for attention. Give cats the same respect and space you'd give a new human when you first meet them and you'll be ok. Respect and consideration for another. Lula can be a bit chatty when she is in her room and wants out but she's not a big talker. She asks to come out and if it's a good time she gets to come out and spend time with other gentle, easy going cats. There is a tiny bit of a saucy streak in Lula which only comes out once in a while. Almost as if she just has to be a bit pushy with another cat, just to remind them she's in charge. In her opinion at least. She has been spending hours at a time out with a couple of other cats here at the shelter and has been perfect 99.23% of the time. Once Lula got to know us, she became a very loving and very affectionate cat. She will follow us around, talking and staring up at us. Not always certain what she wants but we know she likes us. And we like her.
